prices of oil in Jordan are doubled for the 20th year in a row, although world oil prices have gone done due to the intensified use of other power resources.

I think people will become pod people, lying in their automassaging reclining chairs, hooked into the future version of the Internet through wireless transceivers implanted in their skulls, powered by their own body heat. Their eyes and ears will go unused, because their sensory input will be electronic. I think people will be more likely to starve this way than to overeat, because they will forget to eat. I think there will be social tension between those who want to engage in electronic telepathy (the ultimate Instant Messaging), and those who wish to keep their thoughts private.
I think you're absolutely right about Lebanon, but I think they won't bother to have elections anymore because they'll be embroiled in another civil war shortly. Would it help if they split into multiple countries? Probably not.
I certainly hope teleportation becomes available. It would turn the world's economy upside-down, though, because suddenly airlines and trucking companies would be no more, the oil companies would see sales plummet and be forced to consolidate, middle-men would be less necessary, and prices would fluctuate wildly until they found a new equilibrium. But I think the oil companies would buy or steal the teleportation technology, and either keep it unused, or use it in another monopoly like oil.
